Hi fellow aquarists . Here's my Marine aquarium for all to see . It's been running for over a year now and been going great . The main display tank measures 6ft x 3ft x 2.5ft and my sump measures 5ft x 2ft x 2ft . My weir has wool , fine , med and course filter pads and bio balls in it with water trickling down to my sump . In chamber 1 the water enters . Chamber 2 has Live Rock , Air stones & more fine , med and course pads . Chamber 3 has my outlets for my external filter ( Eheim 2080 ) and more Live Rock & Lighting unit  . Chamber 4 has my protein skimmer and return water from external filter passing through my 2 x U.V 600 Steriliser . Chamber 5 has my Heater , Phosphate reactor containing Rowaphos and my 7500 LPH return Pump . The lighting unit has 8 x 80watt T5 tubes ( 4 White 4 Blue ) . In the aquarium itself there are 2 large wavemakers and 2 large powerheads . There is 140kg Live Fiji Rock and 80kg of Live Sand . The fish consists of 6 x Chromis 2 x Percular Clowns , Regal Tang , Powder Blue Tang , Purple Tang , Falcula Butterfly , Pakistani Butterfly , Longnose Butterfly , Threadfin Butterfly , Twin Spotted Wrasse , Silver Yellow Wrasse , 6 Line Wrasse , Royal Gramma , Emperor Angel , Majestic Angel , Cream Angel , Bi Coloured Angel , Coral Beauty & Flame Angel. They all get on great with no territory issues . Hope you enjoy the picture and I'll add more soon . Cheerz . Scott ( OLDY ) Oldman .

Stunning fish mate. I know FOWLR are popular, I just cant help thinking how nice it would be with corals as well especially with the awesome base you have there.

Keep up the good work and welcome to the site  ;)

Hi Alfie . I work offshore so this type of aquarium is best for me when I'm doing a 3 on 3 off rota . Think with corals ( Which are beautiful )  it would be another challenge whilst I'm away . I'm also going to be adding a Trigger ( Clown I think ) as my last fish so again don't know how he'd get on . Thanks for the comment on my aquarium and also for the advice . Cheerz , Scott

That does look nice I must say, the open rock work is fab.

Re the Clown Trigger - ask Chunksbredda about them as he raves over them, I personally think they should be left in the ocean as they are total nut cases and will happily rearrange all that rock work for you!  :)

You need to train the missus in corals then pal, then you can come home and appreciate a reef while she does 3 weeks of hard work looking after them :)

Cheerz for the advice Rona . Always wanted one after my dad had one for 11 years . He was magic eating from your hand and giving his tank mates no bother what so ever . But reading up on them it seems to be a hit or a miss as to their behaviour . Will have to wait and see if I take the plunge and go for it or go for another trigger family member .

......... And Alfi , that comment of yours just got me a clip roon the ear haha . Think I'll have to start private messaging instead PMSL .

Hi Adam123 and thanks for the comments . I had a Picasso and a Niger Trigger in my old set-up . They were both 4-5" in size . They were in with my Queen Angel ( Which was the reason for this upgrade . Bought her at 2 " and she was 11" before the upgrade ) foxface , regal tang , yellow tang , clowns , wrasses , and flame angel . I moved everything to another room and  set it up as it was before for 3 weeks  but when I was ready to transfer all the rock and fish over to the new aquarium I had an outbreak of white spot and lost everything with in 5 days . TOTAL NIGHTMARE .  So this is me starting again from scratch . My confidence was shot to pieces for ages because I'd only upgraded for the queen angels sake and she never even got one length of the new aquarium but (TOUCH WOOD) it's all coming together again nicely . Great to hear from you and again cheerz for your comments . OLDY

Hi there fellow Aquarists . Sorry I've been away soooooo long but I cannot access MFF when I'm offshore for some unknown reason .
Just to let you know that my aquarium is now complete and instead of adding a Clown Trigger ( Just incase he went crazy ) I've added a Bi coloured Angel and a Coral Beauty . They have been in their new home for over 3 months now and no complications at all . Everything is going nicely .
Here is an updated photo of my Emperor Angel . I bought him in January at approx 3" Juv stage . You can see what he looked like in my previous picture ( He's in the bottom left hand corner ) Now he's turned into a beautiful 8" show piece fish . The side you see in the picture shows he still has a little bit of developing on his left side but his right is amazing and complete . He's an eating machine . He eats 2 whole sheets of Nori a day along with Spectrum pellets and a selection frozen food .
I promise I'll keep you's all up 2 date with anything else when I'm at home .
Scott ( Oldy )
