tested my water yesterday and my calcium is at 500?
is this ok or what can i do to drop it??
im using the salifert test kits so i know its right

Tonic at 500 its only 25 high provided you are not getting precipitation I would not worry

it'll drop on its own as calcium is laid down on the rocks etc

Re double check your results,
a slight variation from the instructions can throw things off, ie too much powder, too many drips, etc etc
consistant results is key ie do 3 tests one afta other, all results should be identical.

so i should really start reading the instructions lol when i done the first test i had no water left in the syringe so thought that meant my calcium was 500 lol
so done it yesterday and READ that its where the black bit is on the syringe lol so as it turns out my calcium is 470ppm
happy days

yup this is the case 70% of the time ime ,, user error !!
you are correct , the reading should be taken from the end (solution end) of the black rubber plunger.
